Open to all R3 members whose membership fees have been paid in full at the time of application, the scheme aims to support members in accessing learning, networking, and development opportunities that will enhance their professional knowledge and skills. There is no limit to the number of bursary applications a member can make each year, allowing members to apply for support whenever suitable opportunities arise.
As part of the scheme, successful applicants will be invited to share their experience of the event or course they attended. These reflections may be published in the R3 Newsletter, Recovery magazine, R3 News, or on the R3 blog, helping other members understand the value and benefits of participating.
R3 is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, age, or socioeconomic background, and we encourage applications from members across the profession.

How to apply
- Select from an eligible R3 training course or event above.
- Confirm the date for submission of an application has not passed
- Complete the online application form below.
All applications submitted will be reviewed by the R3 Bursary Scheme Committee. Their decisions will be final and confidential. All information provided as part of the application process will remain entirely confidential, coherent with governance policies, and will be shared only with the R3 Bursary Scheme committee. All R3 Bursary Scheme committee members will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the anonymity of applicants.
The R3 Bursary Scheme committee may request additional information or clarification in support of the application.
Criteria
- Open to all R3 members whose membership fees have been paid in full at the time of application.
- Applicants must not be reasonably able to fund attendance on the training or event without the bursary.
- There is no limit on the number of applications which may be made by each member per year.
It is understood that diversity comes in many forms and may be self-defined. This will be interpreted in the widest sense possible. Different criteria may apply to individual courses and events, and these will be made clear on the R3 website.
The selection process does not seek to make any judgements about the relative worth of different types of diversity – instead, it will be responsible for considering each application on its own merits to ensure a wide-ranging representation of the diverse community working in the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency profession.
In awarding a Diversity and Inclusion delegate place the R3 Bursary Scheme Committee may base its decision on several factors including:
- The quality of the application.
- Whether, or not, an applicant has received an R3 bursary in recent years. Preference may be given to those who have not benefited from a bursary in the past.
- Proven or potential contribution to and /or participation in the Association’s activities.
The Bursary Scheme Committee will meet shortly after the deadline and applicants will be advised soon afterwards about whether they have been granted an award.
Successful applicants will be notified in writing and will receive a delegate place on the associated training course or event, along with a contribution towards their travel and accommodation, at a standard rate, if appropriate. Successful applicants will be asked to confirm that they are able to take up the offer of the Diversity and Inclusion delegate place.
It will not be possible to transfer the Diversity and Inclusion delegate place to a colleague or an alternative training course or event should the successful applicant not be able to attend as planned. In such circumstances R3 will retain the right to offer the Diversity and Inclusion delegate place to another applicant.
